Peggy was Right review in The Sault Star
Zehr's novel opens conversation about women's rights to choose - Dr. Patricia Zehr's goal was to bring to life the important right Canadian women have to choose a health care option that is best for them, physically, mentally and to create discussion about the issue.

Teach-Read-Inspire review of Peggy was Right
Having first read The Beatles, Babies and Broken Bodies, Angie at Teach-Read-Inspire was eager to read and review Peggy was Right. She features it in the Books on Reproductive Hearth and Women's Rights section. Here's an excerpt. "I really enjoyed this book, especially how the author was able to contrast the health care situation in Texas with the one she is intimately familiar with in Canada. Peggy, Delilah and Becky are all really well crafted characters who are easy to relate to and empathize with, no matter what age and stage of life you are in."
Lisa Tucker interviews Dr. Zehr about Peggy was Right on The Book Cover
"Fiction is the great lie that tells the truth." Early in this podcast Pat quotes The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese to explain the truth telling in her latest book Peggy was Right. The point of her book is to show how bureaucrats are taking away women's rights for their own bodies. It is her fervent hope that extreme views and policies held in the U.S. don't come to Canada.

Praise for Dr. Zehr
When I was the Chair of the Physician Retention and Recruitment Committee, Dr. Pat Zehr and Mary Jane Yorke and myself travelled to Toronto to meet with the Ontario Medical Association and their President.
I have to comment that Dr. Zehr was the patient advocate voice at the meeting table. I have read and recommend her book – The Beatles, Babies, and Broken Bodies - which is based on her lived experience and definitely shines a light on the Canadian healthcare system and creates the dialogue needed to facilitate change.

What Reviewers are Saying
"Zehr is candid about physician burnout and how some doctors never notice the negative changes occurring in their own bodies due to mental stress and sheer exhaustion. The well-written memoir’s concluding chapters concern the author not as a medical professional but as a patient and health care consumer, forced to personally wrestle with the system’s inadequacies and frustrations. This segment is as real as it gets and unpacks a great amount of disillusionment and exasperation with an industry Zehr had enjoyed a bittersweet relationship with."
