The Beatles, Babies and Broken Bodies |
My Memoir Navigating Canada's Healthcare SystemHaving dedicated more than four decades to providing healthcare, Pat has experienced the healthcare system firsthand as a practitioner, advocate, and patient. She’s worked as a registered nurse in the Northwest Territories, an industrial nurse at a lead-zinc mine in the High Arctic, and an OB-GYN in Sault Ste. Marie in northern Ontario.

Pat's love of The Beatles served as a touchstone throughout her life and practice. Their music was a balm to help her deal with the toll of caring for patients in a system stretched to the breaking point. It is Pat’s hope that this book shines a light on the Canadian healthcare system and creates the dialogue needed to facilitate change.
